BUILDING VENTILATION SIMULATION

Understand the flow.
Improve the space.

Building ventilation CFD helps you look beyond total air volume to see how supply air moves through rooms, around obstacles and towards extraction.

MECHANICAL VENTILATION CFD

Air supplied.
Air delivered.

The location of a supply or extract device can matter as much as the airflow assigned to it.

A room may have the intended overall air supply while its internal distribution remains uneven. A CFD study provides a spatial view of velocity and pressure, helping you investigate circulation, low-motion regions and flow paths between supply and extract.

Climoptix brings those questions into a building-based workspace. Prepare room geometry, define ventilation devices and inspect supported OpenFOAM results in relation to the space you are designing.

  • Explore the relationship between supply and extract positions
  • Inspect airflow near desks, seating and other obstacles
  • Compare alternative distributions on a shared building model

ROOM-SCALE AIRFLOW ANALYSIS

Designed around
occupied spaces.

Offices. Classrooms. Meeting rooms.
Shared interiors. Refurbishment projects.

The layout changes the flow. Furniture, internal divisions and openings shape the paths air can take. Preparing these elements together makes it easier to connect simulation findings to practical design decisions.

Use slices to inspect the flow through selected planes and point probes to examine available result values at chosen locations. Keep the geometry, boundary assumptions and solver scope with the study so comparisons remain meaningful.

WHAT CURRENT RESULTS COVER

Velocity and pressure,
in the context of the room.

Supported steady, isothermal airflow studies require a connected worker. Indoor air quality, CO₂ transport, buoyancy, natural-ventilation thermal effects and PMV/PPD comfort metrics are separate physics requirements and are not currently validated solved outputs.

A PURPOSEFUL STUDY STARTS WITH GOOD INPUTS

Bring the question.
Build the evidence.

01 / GEOMETRY

Represent the space.

Prepare measured room dimensions, relevant openings and appropriate simplified representations of furniture and other flow obstacles.

02 / CONDITIONS

Describe the ventilation.

Define supply and extract locations, flow rates, surface conditions and a mesh suitable for the question you want to investigate.

03 / INTERPRETATION

Review the whole study.

Consider result patterns together with mesh quality, residuals, conservation and sensitivity to assumptions. A striking image alone does not establish accuracy.
